Emirates Gold?

This gold bar is made from 10 grams of 999.9 gold and minted by Emirates Gold DMCC, the largest gold refiner and bar manufacturer in the Middle East, has its headquarters in the precious metal refining and jewellery manufacturing complex that is administered by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).

Emirates Gold DMCC is the first gold refinery in the Middle East to be added to eight approved international firms holding the DGD standard. The DMCC Gold Physical Committee has approved Emirates Gold's application after the British Standard Institute (BSI) tests of EG gold bars met qualifying criteria for DGD status.

Emirates Gold has been awarded Dubai Good Delivery Status by Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre (DMCC) in 2005. The gold industry relies greatly on refiners whose gold bars are accepted by associations and exchanges as good delivery for the settlement of transactions.

CertiCard?

Emirates Gold issued a certificate in a form of CertiCard made by Certiline-Varese from Italy. The gold bar is sealed inside the CertiCard to preserve its authenticity.
A seal card is attached to the upper front polyester element presenting a clear window under the piece and a security film. The special security film lays in the closed CertiCard in between the seals window and the piece so that, being imprinted with luminescent patterns it can be visually found integer under U.V. light, thus providing the guarantee over the permanent state of closure.

And opened CertiCard has a mark "BROKEN SEAL" appeared on the side of the card. This will provide indication that the gold bar has been exposed and abolished it’s guaranteed of authenticity.

999.9?

Also referred as "Four Nines", is a Millesimal fineness equivalent to 23.9976 carats. This is the highest purity of gold bar which is economic to produce for the investment market.

Minted Bars?

Minted BarsCast Bars
The cast bar is when the gold is created by pouring the molten gold in a pre-sized cast, while minted bars are created by stamping the bar from a piece of gold that was already cast. In most cases you will pay more money in premiums when you purchase minted gold bars. In most cases the minted bars look better than cast bars.

Authenticity?

Contrary to popular belief, certificate of authenticity is not a proof that the gold is authentic because the certificate itself can be forged.

Gold Bars or Gold Coins?

Gold Bars

For the serious and large scale investor, gold bars are a simple and efficient way to invest in gold. The larger bars are usually available at the lowest premiums over their intrinsic gold value, smaller bars tend to cost more. There is a trade-off however, in that larger bars are not as flexible when it comes to selling. If you own a kilo bar, and you wish to sell, say 100 grams, it's not easy to slice off one end of your bar. Your choice of buyer is also more restricted as you will need to sell to a larger dealer, it is unlikely that you will find a private buyer as most people are not familiar with gold bullion bars.

Gold Coins

It is sensible to consider modern one ounce gold bullion coins as being one ounce circular bullion bars, guaranteed by a government rather than a refiner.
Because coins are mass produced, and very efficiently so, they are available at very competitive prices compared with similar size bars. Because gold coins are almost universally recognised, they are also easy to resell.
